Mindanao Roving Ambassador Hon Aleem Guiapal who’s Executive Director of the Regional Economic Zone Authority (REZA) @Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) flew into KL with a friend to celebrate Maulidur Rasul and took that opportunity to touch base with ICIFE Director Dr Haji Zulkifly Baharom on matters relating to the preparation of Bangsamoro Economic Development Summit scheduled 17-18 February 2017 in Manila.

Aleem is no stranger to Malaysia. He has visited almost all major cities in Peninsula up north in Alor Star n UUM Sintok down south in JB & East Malysia in Kuching, Labuan & Kota Kinabalu. He could be seen in KL every other month meeting with ICIFE Director Dr Haji Zulkifly Baharom or accompanying his big boss, ARMM Regional Governor Hon Mujiv Hataman or as Protocol Officer to the Philippines Congresswoman Hon Sitti Djalia Hataman conferring with Scholars, Bankers, Business people, Head of Agencies and Entrepreneurs.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of REZA, Aleem served as Director for Bureau of Muslim Economics Affairs with National Commission of Muslim Filipinos at the Office of Philippines President. In between that period, Aleem was selected as a visiting Fellow at the American International University in Washington to understudy international relations and diplomacy. He is an alumnus of Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Manila graduated with Master in Development Management degree. Whilst @AIM, he met Dr Zul who was then Chairman of the Federation of AIM Alumni Associations and their relationship strengthen with ICIFE.

Last weekend Aleem visited KL with his Canadian Muslim Br Chris Adebahr who is married and has settled down in Manila the past 9 years. Chris is the Owner/CEO of IT outsourcing company Zigzag Offshoring with 250 employees based @Pasig City serving many outlets. They loved Malaysian street food galore and enjoyed the united tastes of Malaysia recipes. Chris said, “Malaysian street food is the best. Not only because of its authentic Halal brand above all in KL & Shah Alam you can savor your favorites wherever, whenever!” Aleem has hit the punchline stating,”I’m frequently in KL because Malaysia is my Second Homeland.”
