Strategic Management From An Islamic Perspective
The aim of this module is to help participants teach strategic management from an Islamic perspective (SMIP). A strategy is the future direction the chief executive officer (CEO) wants to take his organization. Choosing a strategy means deciding what to do and what not to do. More importantly, every decision is necessarily accompanied by a risk of failure. Conventional strategic management (CSM) stresses the importance of choosing the right direction. Unfortunately, the risk is often forgotten. The Islamic perspective indicates that Muslims have priorities that are slightly different than conventional management. Typically, SMIP stresses social benefits and reducing unnecessary risk.
