Islamic Leadership Today
There have been a number of books written on Islamic leadership but they tend to rely exclusively on Islamic sources. Similarly, most books on leadership generally take a secular angle and deny the role of religion in the workplace. This books attempts to merge these two traditions by combining the best of Western scholarship with the best of Islamic scholarship. In particular, the authors develop the Prophetic Leadership Model.
Key to the authors’ analysis is that the world is an increasingly complex place and that systems thinking is necessary to manage this increasing level of complexity. Without the benefits of systems thinking, many decisions made in good faith by Muslim leaders would have unintended consequences. However, systems thinking with a moral compass can be dangerous. To prove their point the authors bring some quantitative and qualitative data to reflect upon.
